About Roger Hargreaves

Roger Hargreaves was born in 1935 in Cleckheaton, Yorkshire, England. I know very little about his childhood, although I know he had an ambition to be a cartoonist.
Roger began his career as an author later in life, but first followed a career in advertising, and he became a creative director at a London advertising firm.
He married Christine (I don't know the maiden name). They had four children - Adam, Giles and twin girls Sophie and Amelia.
As an author, his most famous creations were the Mr Men, with the first book, Mr Tickle, being written in 1971. In all he wrote and illustrated 43 Mr Men books.
The Little Miss series was not started until 1981, with books such as Little Miss Naughty and Little Miss Bossy. He wrote and illustrated 30 books in the Little Miss series.
During the 1970s and 80s he also wrote many other childrens books, such as the Timbucktoo and John Mouse series.
Roger Hargreaves died in 1988 aged 53.

Hilary Duff

Hilary Erhard Duff was born on September 28th, 1987, in Houston, Texas USA. Her first part was in the mini-series True Women (1997) (TV), but her first starring role was as "Ellie" in The Soul Collector (1999) (TV), for which she won a Best Performance in a TV Movie or Pilot (Supporting Young Actress) Young Artist Award.

Success came again as she took the role of the starring title character "Lizzie McGuire" in the #1 hit Disney Channel series "Lizzie McGuire" (2001). "Lizzie" was extremely successful and spawned The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003). In 2002, she made the Disney Channel movie Cadet Kelly (2002) (TV). Hilary continues her upward spiral, guest-starring on TV shows, filming movies, recording albums and
doing television concerts.

Hilary is storming the music charts, with singles "So Yesterday" and "Come Clean" settling nicely into the top 40. Hilary's first album, "Metamorphosis".
