Surfer Casual & Blue Sandal Review

Feeling low key and relaxed, all I really wanted to wear were my new blue sandals.

I got these sandals last week after finding them in my size on Amazon.  They were only $18 and I love them...but they hurt my feet. :(

The back rubbed the my heal and thankfully my work keeps stock of band aids.  That helped that.  To put the shoe on, you pull apart the slightly stretchy fabric (no zipper or buckles).  Looks cool, but dug into my ankles a bit.  You can kind of see evidence of this in the above pic.  I will give the shoes another try, because sometimes it takes a bit to get your feet use to something...but these will not be any new go-to sandals and more on certain occasions (when I need blue shoes).

Shoe(s) of the day - Jelly Flats

Back in the 80s and 90s I spent my summers wearing jellies in all different colors:

Now, 20 some-odd years later jellies are back, and I even own a pair (peep-toe jellies from Target a year or so ago when the first re-emerged -sort of similar to these - mine are smokey gray color), however a lot different from the ones above.  Jelly flats are fun for the summer and are way updated since the 80s.  Here are some adult, updated jellies that I'd romp around all summer in my 20s now:

Dress for Less: Ruffle Sandles

It's no secret how much I love these ruffle sandals by Pour La Victoire (I've posted a few times before, most recently in my latest Wear Now, Wear Later post).



While these are not suuuuper expensive, just kinda expensive at $160, which I can't really justify for flats. They are suuuper beautiful though... In looking for some similar, less pricey options, I found a close look alike.

I like that the ruffle is over-sized and dramatic like the Inspiration pair, but do wish a sliver color was an option... The pink could be fun:

Goodness Gracious! It was -11 degrees (that's a negative sign in front of that 11) with wind chill today where I live in Kansas. Brrrrrr. My yard is covered with about 8 inches of snow:

Trying to keep warm and dry in my rain slickers is not cutting it. My feet freeze in these.

It's pretty, but I hate it. Thankfully, I get to work from home instead of spending hours driving slowly and slippery to work and avoid these temps - but I'm getting a bit of cabin fever, friends! Though even if I go outside (I ventured out to shovel the driveway), it only lasts a few minutes!

This is one of the coldest and snowiest winters we've had in a loooong time. It is forcing me to shop for things like...

Uglys - er - I mean Uggs

I want the Ultra kind with the thick soles to keep my feet dry.
If I'm gonna wear some glorified slippers, I at least want to be dry, warm and comfy...
So I guess these Uggs are the way to go.

Or do I get a real snow boot instead of the glorified slipper with a thick sole?

Shoe Review - Black Fringe Flats

At the end of last month, I posted about some cute, inexpensive black fringe sandals. Well, I bought them, I have worn them a couple times now and I love them.

From Payless, on sale now for only $16.99 (!!!) - these shoes are comfortable, fun, different and yet subtle. I recommend them.
