Since I was vacationing last week, I missed my photography class last week and the assignment.  So instead of Lulu and my typical I See, You See - we took pics of each other - hah! You'll have to head over to her blog to see the final chosen pics - one of her taken by me, and one of me taken by her.

Also using the pics Lulu took of me for today's outfit post {Thanks so much L}... Wearing my new maxi skirt.  This is new to me.  I love the maxi dress thing, sure, but haven't tried the long skirt - and now I own 2, thanks to shopping on vacay.  Here's the first attempt - a long black and white stripe skirt. Paired with this washed out denim shirt, I think I look a little tired cow girl ish?

First Outfit Back & Photography Beginnings

Hey all! The Remix 30x30 Challenge officially over (wahoo) and I get my closet back + get to buy a few new things!!  I'm still going to keep my spending down low, especially as we're finishing up our home (which cost some major dough, if you ask me...) projects and have lots more in our future.  I did however run to J.Crew first thing post-challenge and get 2 stripedy beauties.  I got the Maritime dress, which you'll see later this week, and the Stripe Painter Tee (that zips in the back)...And immediately wore!

See that floor... that is PROGRESS!! Our bedroom (the one I'm standing in) is like 90% done.  The white trim is gleaming, blue paint touched up and floors finished and uncovered.

Also last night, I started my Photography Class and KC Art Institute with my friend (and Photo blogger), Lulu.  Together, over at her fab blog - A Candid Life, we are going to do a weekly feature on (or about) Wednesdays (a day after our weekly Tuesday class) with our two homework photos taken with a broad theme in mind - so the pictures will really be very different.  She'll post both our photos with the theme.  The first post is us behind our lens'.  I took the pic of her and she took the pic of me.  I think we're going to have fun... Day 4 {Maxi Dress Winterized}

I included my ultra summery maxi dress, with floral print and all as one of my 30 items of this challenge.  I wanted to challenge myself with this, and also love it.  I didn't want to wait until winter is over to wear it.  So, here it is making it's debut on the 4th day of this challenge under a "fancy" hoodie (it's cuter than a typical hoodie, and has a bow, so I deem it fancy).

I wore my Urban Outfitter fancy hoodie tied in a bow over the dress & over my suede tall boots. 

Day 3 {Denim & Lace}

I have a feeling I will wear both of these pieces a lot - the lace skirt and denim shirt will be fun to remix.  Hope you don't get sick of them! :)  Here is my 3rd outfit in the Remix Challenge {Round 2} 30x30.

Day 2 {Fair Isle Warmth}

Well, it's the coldest day of the year {um, one of many to come, I'm sure}, so I picked my fair isle sweater that I scored on the clearance rack at Target a month ago.  Paired this with a stripe tee, over jeans and my slouchy grey boots and called it an outfit.

Nothing to crazy, but defiantly like this sweater and think I can have some fun with it!  My Keurig is also lending a hand to keep my warm {and awake}.

Remix Challenge {Round 2}: Day 1 {Color Block}

Day 1.  One of 30 long days of wearing the same, boring pieces for 30 days.  Hold up.  Boring? I bought these duds!  I must like them?  I just need to relearn how to love them, do something different with them and try to be creative.  Well, you all can be the judge on how creative I can be.  Let's start this thing.

Dress for Less - Anthro Look, part 2

Part 2 of today's Dress for Less series: Anthropologie inspired.  Again with the Anthropologie floral dress... but this time I have other options if your wallet isn't big enough for Anthro or the dress didn't quite fit well (a la me).

Shoe(s) of the Day: Lace Up Booties

Ahh! I have been SO out of the shoe loop lately!  I apologize for the lack of Shoe of the Day posts these past month - shoes do NOT deserve that kind of lacking attention.  So,without further ado, a Shoe of the Day post that's long over due (and no, I didn't even mean to make a little poem).

So you have seen my new lace up booties a couple of times (here and here).  I scored these after Thanksgiving at DSW.  I can't find them online - but they are by Audrey Brooks and they are the Sasha lace up booties.

This can be a great time to buy boots of any kind, as retailers are trying to get winter stuff out, to make room for transition and spring products.  However, it can be hard to find your size or the color you want before it's gone!  Some other lace up bootie boot options that I think are equally, if not MORE, cute and available (but probably for a limited time....):
