Twirling

I am SO glad that longer, knee-length or midi skirts are back in style, let me tell you.  So much easier to dress for work and my legs do a bit better with a skirt that is longer than micro mini.  Plus you can twirl in them, and that's a lot of fun!

Sorry if I made you dizzy.  Twirling is just so much fun. :)  Thanks to Lulu for taking these pics.

{Top, actually a tunic tucked in - Banana Republic; Full skirt - Oldie Banana Republic, Earrings - SF China Town, Shoes - Marshalls, Ring - Banana Republic}

You know those rings that are double fingered?  Well, this is not one of those - but it's face flaps over my second finger, making it look like one of those double fingered rings. I like it better this way because my fingers are still free.  But hey - stop looking at my unpolished, ultra bitten down, stress-ridden fingers!

Well, These Boots Did NOT Work...

But, I liked the Orange and Gray-Blue color combo...just wished I would have done something different for my tights and footwear...

{Tiered Top - Loft; Orange Skirt - J.Crew; Tall Silver Socks - Banana Republic; Boots - Banana Republic; Gold Cuff Bracelet - Loft}
Do you ever do that? Later see the picture and kick your self with your badly chosen boots, or whatnot?  Ug. So annoying!!  Oh well... I liked the outfit from the knees-up! :)

Inspiration from the pages: Neon

I've dabbled with neon before, and to tell you the truth - I kinda love it.  Obviously in moderation, but it can be so fun to mis with duller (neutral) colors for a pop!

I got this outfit inspiration from the the pages of my magazines...

So I played with the lime/yellow neon color and wore with grays and black.  For the spring, I will pair this blouse with the army green colors as seen in the above inspiration page.

I even wore vibrant blue heels.  Just for fun.

Outfit Deets:
Neon blouse - Loft
Stripe Shirt - Banana Republic
Black Pants - H&M
Heels - Blowfish via DSW

A Whole Lot Going On

Oh yes, as my husband said to me in this outfit... you have a lot going on here.  Hah! Yes, I do - but I like it!!

A little bit of sequins for the day time, mixed with leopard and stripes:

Well, maybe a lot going on...but anchored by black tights and boots, I think it worked, and was fun:

Leopard Cardi - INC from Macy's
Sequin Tank - Loft, last year
Stripe Skirt - H&M, this summer
Black boots - Banana Republic, 2 years ago

Outfit of the Day: Yellow Tights

I said I love experimenting with different colored and bright tights for Fall... I put on my bright yellow legs for this outfit.

Also experimented with layering the J.Crew Lorelei Strapless dress over the J.Crew Stripe Tee.

Yellow tights from Target last year and Boots from Banana Republic last year, as well.

What is the craziest tight color you will try out?

School Girl Plaid, with Stripes

Starting to incorporate my Fall favorites, and so excited!  I love the change of seasons, mainly just to bring out clothes that have been packed away for months.  Makes them feel all new and fresh.  I'll hate them again in a month, but for now, I'm loving them!

My (light) wool skirt in plaid from Gap last year, over my H&M Stripe tunic/mini dress with my Aldo Booties & Banana Republic chunky necklace:

Getting Ready for Fall with Orange and Purple

I'm most excited about orange and purple for this fall - mixing it together or with other colors.  I dabbled with this mixture on a very timid level and think I can do get bolder next time.

Still rocking the new heels

Banana Republic skirt
Target silk purple tank

Pre-vacation photo, so no tan is present. :)

Remix Challenge: Day 20

20 days in! 10 more left.  Feeling desperate to get back to all my closet choices, but also thinking I can get through these next 10 days...?

Today I layered my one shoulder shirt over another tank with a skirt I'm really wearing a lot of...

One Shoulder Shirt worn on day 12 from The Limited
Worn over tiered tank worn on day 2 and 10 from Marshalls
Skirt worn on day 8 and 15 from Banana Republic
Sandals from DSW (and I'm not paying too much attention to how much I wear the shoes)
Neon orange belt from Washington D.C. - last worn here

Remix Challenge: Day 17

Over the hill and trying to keep things fresh.  Wore the skirt I wore on day one as a the dress that it is today.  Felt like something new, so that what fun.  Added my big bold turquoise necklace for some fun color.

Remix Challenge: Day 8

Moving along on the Remix Challenge and onto Day 8!  A simple gray skirt with a flowy purple tank tucked in.  I love the bow detail on the shoulder and the pop of yellow on my feet. :)

Pretty simple, but tried to mix up the colors a bit and wore some multi colored fun earrings that you can't see.

Nordy Tank

Remix Challenge: Day 1

My first outfit of the 30x30 Remix Challenge is a complete rip off from Linda, my fav blogger outfit on Monday.  She wore a dress as a skirt to make her remix piece go further.  So my first outfit...

I wore 3 pieces for today's outfit.

Banana Republic Green Dress, worn as a skirt (you'll see it as a dress in the next 30 days)
JCrew Striped Top, a constant staple
Simply Vera for Kohls Pumps
Not counted as the 30x30, JCrew necklace

Outfit of the Day: Peachy Keen

Felt just peachy keen in this peachy pink outfit with another touch of neon.  I got a new piece of neon and love it.

A little bit of ruffle, a bit of sparkle and a neon belt...

All in a days work!

These jellies are getting a work out this summer.

The sky even went a little bit pink:
We've been having super weird storms lately and this was right before another.

Outfit Deets:
Gray sparkle shirt - Forever21 (last worn here)
Cardi - J.Crew
Belt - Filene's basement in DC (Brand - Candies) and reminds me of J.Crew's, for less!

Dress for Less: Turquoise Statement Necklace

As I mentioned earlier this week, I have a few less expensive and (maybe) findable options of the Banana Republic Turquoise bling I've been running around in a lot lately.

The Banana Republic Necklace (as if you need a reminder...):

Unavailable online, I got mine in my local BR store and it's priced at $69.50

Other options:

My co-worker showed up in this stunning necklace, looking a lot like mine, but from WALMART!
I was unable to find this online - but she got in last week and Walmart's site sucks, so hopefully this is available for you all in a store near you!

Turquoise Colored Passion Necklace for only $32 from Overstock.com

RJ Graziano Long Beaded Layer Necklace for $34 at Nordstrom

Double Torsade Necklace for $28 from Anthropologie

Beaded Warrior Necklace for $9 from Forever21

Or if you are looking for a similar style (multi strand necklace), not necessarily caring about the turquoise:

Multi Coloured Multi Row Metal And Bead Necklace for $13 from Asos- LOVE this one - I actually received one almost identical to this as a gift from a good friend and love it.  This is also very similar to Juicy Couture's $200 necklace.

Catherine Stein Multi-Strand Mixed Beaded Necklace for $10 from Lord and Taylor
