Shoe of the Day: Nude Bow Flats

It is straight up back to winter in Kansas City.  Cold!  But I've already switched my closets and winter clothes are packed away!  So I forged ahead with my spring clothes and some NEW SHOES.

If you Follow Me on Twitter, you know I made my first ASOS purchase.  I got a skirt, dress and these sweet little shoes.  I loved all 3 items and so glad I finally popped that cherry.  Now I feel like I know how it goes and comfortable shopping there.  On to the shoes and spring clothes...

I wore these little flats with bright yellow pants, silky pink blouse under a cotton bejeweled tee - Spring Fever.  Kind of looked like an Easter egg?  I'm not sure if primary yellow and pastel pink go together, but I felt a bit more creative than yesterday, at least.

A Walk in the Park

Yesterday was my weekly photography class (coming to an end soon with only 2 classes left) and we got to take advantage of the sun and blue sky walking around the sculpture park at Nelson's Atkins Museum.  Lulu took my outfit photos while we pranced around.  Remember to check her blog for this weeks I See, You See feature (assignment was reflections)!

For the outfit, I dabbled with color blocking and didn't even wear a neutral.  Citrus green/yellow, bold purple & light turquoise through and through.

Bubble Gum Stripes

Prada, Marc Jacobs, A.L.C., and Celine are just some designers that presented this bubble gum stripes trend down the runway, as reported about via Who What Wear.

I saw this and immediately loved it!  I love stripes and bold, fun colors - so combined, I was in love.  I can see, however, where some might think this look could be a little parachute-y?  What do you think?

OOTD: On the Sunny Side

It was SO nice the past couple of days here.  Here we are in December - and the sun was out, and weather warm enough for a light jacket, scarf and able to trot around town and get this Xmas shopping done!  I am 90% done! Which I'm really happy about.

So with all this nice weather - I mixed a little springy wear with a winter wear and some bright tights to boot!

Favorite Blogger Outfit: Sweet Fall Mixtures

I love all the mixtures of patterns, textures and level of fancy.  It's subtle enough to all work together, but unique enough to be interesting.  Miss Veronika from Veronkia's Blushing never fails to give us good outfits, and this one just happens to be one of my fav (maybe b/c I'm majorly crushing on gingham print):

Favorite Blogger Outfit: Lace Dress I Want SO BAD!

Oh readers.  If I had a Zara near me, I'd be running as fast as I can to the store to get this absolutely adorable lace dress that Rosa from Love at First Shop is rocking.

Lace is so fun right now, and I for one am totally ok with white all year around.  She wears her white lace dress over thick black tights for a great way to take this dress into winter (next, just add tall boots and a top under layer)!

Outfit of the Day: Pearls and Patterns

With my wide array of striped shirts, I'm constantly trying to mix and match them with different patterns to make different looks.  I've mixed stripes with florals, other stripes, plaid, textures, on and on... So today I mixed a stripe top, with diamond pattern skirt and layered on a bit of pearls.

Always & Forever Skinny (the Jeans, Not me)

Have you all checked out Gap lately?  I fell for some of their 1969 jeans that come in many different cuts and styles.  After trying on about 9 different kinds, I ended up with walking away with two pairs: Skinny and Curvy - hah!!  Talk about an oximoron... 

Anyways, for all you curvy and non-curvy girls alike, check out Gap's Always & Forever Skinny Jeans.  I ended up with the Forever Skinny jeans - as that rise is a bit higher than the Always Skinnies and worked better for my bum. They are now my favorite skinny jeans I've tried on to-date! They conform to your body to fit you.  Definitely worth a try on.

Miss Justine from Fetching Fashions recently debuted her new "nook" in her new pad and I think it looks fabulous, especially with her outfit.  This outfit incorporates a faded denim jacket, that not many people could pull off...
